Water Scarcity in the Middle East Empty
PostSubject: Water Scarcity in the Middle East   Water Scarcity in the Middle East EmptyWed Nov 10, 2010 8:11 am

Water is running out, especially in the Middle East, the continent which holds 6.3% of the world's population. The Middle East do not have an association that control the distribution of water and the re-use of it, Egypt purpose a creation of an association for better distribute and usage of the Middle East's water.

The delegate of iran agree with the creation of an organization, since the middle east have many porblems with water problems, droughts, and pollution which affects the distribution of good water to many territories of the middle eastern countries.

The delegation of Iraq supports the idea of creating a organization to control the water in Middle East, but it would only be fair if each country in the region has its own representative on the organization, so the water would be equally shared among the countries

Iraq believes that the country of Egypt should start sharing parts of its reserves with other countries around, in order to be helped when necessity comes. One of the main reserves of water in Middle East is the Nile river in which crosses Egypt.

Delegate, Egypt could consider:

1. Purification of water in the meditterranean sea

2. Getting water from asian and african countries (if possible)

Indeed delegate of Iraq, but Iraq is one of the countries in the Middle East and Northern Africa that has enough water to support themsleves. Egypt will distribute and help other countries and Egypt thinks the country of Iraq should do as well.

Iran thinks the creation of the organization is good because iran is passing through water polluiton caused by disrespectful nuclear waste disposal in the rivers and lakes of the country.

Delegate of Iraq, you already have an agreement with Syria of the sharing and managment of the Euphrates River, and your country is also ranked as one of the best countries that have enough water sources. You will be a country that will need to give some of your water as well as Egypt

Iraq is aware of its water resources and is willing to help any other countries in which are passing through some hard moments, but Iraq is also aware that Iran has a massive amount of reserved water in which could help many struggling countries around Middle East.

Delegate of Iraq,
Agreements will be discussed of better usage of rivers, lakes and ponds that pass through various countries. All of this will be discussed, if the resolution passes, and if the organization is created.
Thank You,
Egypt

Iran only suffers with water issues because the water can't reach certain areas of the country. The bad distribution makes the iranian population that suffer with water to go gather water from polluted bodies of water affected by the nuclear plants. Iran also suffer with droughts that are caused by global warming and also caused by iran being the country one of the biggest areas covered by deserts.

Delegate of Iran,
One of the ways the organization will use money of other countries is for the cleanage of water in the Middle East, as you can see this organization is going to help Middle East in various ways to help the reach of water on places where there water is hard to find, new researchesz to stop desertification, and much more.
Thank You,

Speaking of which, delegate of iran,
there will be closure of nuclear plants in the Middle East, it pollutes the water that is used to drink. And your country is the country where is most found qanats, which are chain wells, another resource of water found in iran.

Iraq may remember all of you that the solution to this water issue would be to create an international debate , in which more countries from Middle East should participate.
We can't forget that it is really hard to carry water from one part of the country to the other

This resolution is directed to Middle East countries, where have issues to divide the usage of water with other countries, like your country delegate of iraq. Your country struggled with dividing the Euphrates River with Syria, this organization will help those agreements to be arranged. Organizations like these are great to help countries and continents move foward on the battle of problems they have.

delegate of egypt,

the nuclear plants can't close since is the future generation energy resource. Also the nuclear plants is not a source of pollution but its waste sometimes are deposit in bodies of water polluting it. Not only the nuclear waste is bad but also the other wastes thrown away by the other factories in my country polluting the water. Iran supports the idea of the organization but before creating this organization the middle eastern coutries need to work on their water pollution issues.

Delegate of iran,
your nuclear plants are the most polluting factories there is in the Middle East, whitout a doubt. Yes, we will review about polluting water and you can be certain that nuclear plants will be overchecked and closed if any errors are found. Your country is the most polluting country in the Middle East.

delegate of egypt,

The nuclear waste is really bad for the environment but thats a iranian problem in which the iranian government is already taking steps to reduce this issue. The radioactivity cannot be a problems to the society. Each year a nuclear plant let out an average of 10 millirems which is not bad for a human living at the fence line of the generator. Antother thing is that an nuclear plant can't explode like a nuke it can only spread radioactivvity at a high scale, which this will only happen if not taken safety precautions which is an rule imposed by the NPT.
