| My group has 2 of possible topics; boarder control, or the War on Drugs. Our president Felipe Calderon, made a campaign to launching army assaults on drug gangs (28,000 died though), but he states that this campaign is working. Mexico is also a major oil prducer and exporter, mostly bought by US Sadly Mexico has many violent crimes; we have the highest rate in the world in kidnappings, mainly because of drug rivals.
We have all this information, and we are probably heading towards War on Drugs.

| The Drug War is becoming extramaly dangerous BBC News states: Ten Mexican police officers have been detained in connection with the torture and murder of 12 federal agents during a major escalation in the drug war.
The arrests come as more than 5,000 troops and federal police are deployed in the western state of Michoacan.

| the drug war would bring devestating effects to not only mexico, but the countries dependent on mexico for resources; such as oil exported to countreis such as u.s. who relies a lot on oil, crops becuase of things only grown in mexico, and much more. the drug war would affect the state of mind of the mexicans affecting not only drug dealers, police, and gov. but the citezens too. | |

| The Colombia delegation was thinking that a possible topic could be about the FARC since it bring lots of debating and its a issue that many countries have been intrigued with. Here are some sites for those who want to know more about the FARC. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/para/farc.htmThis site is a summary of what was going on and a start up in the research http://www.cfr.org/publication/9272/farc_eln.htmlThis one is more detailed and it contains more facts as history, the operations, the fundings and the participation with governments. | |

| United States is really concerned by the some of the measures Hugo Chavez has presented, and actions that are still done today. Venezuela’s president had officially stated he is a socialist-communist, which is a worldwide threat. He is ally of Iran’s president and also has major nuclear power interests. Chavez changed the constitution to spend more time in power, plus, he shutdown TV channels that wouldn’t present his political campaigns, which is a human right’s violation (freedom of expression). http://hrw.org/english/docs/2007/05/22/venezu15986.htm . When he faced a coup in April 2002, Chavez threatened to weaken Venezuela’s brittle democracy, so he could obviously, become a powerful dictator and practice his communist ideas. That’s why the United States will focus on this topic, since it concerns most of the countries and without Chavez on power, Venezuela will be a much powerful country and have much more alleys. | |

| Another issue I would like to adress from Bolivia, illeagal drug creation and possession. Bolivia is the 3rd largest cocaine porducer in the world, with 120 metric tons of pure cocaine made in 2007. All this cocaine is going to Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Chile, paraguay, and Europe. This drug problem is causing not only problems for bolivia but many other drug related problems around Latin America. Here is a link that I mostly perrfer to use (C.I.A) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/bl.html | |

| Delegates, One of the possible topics we could discuss are the health issues in Bolivia, taking in consideration that almost five million people don't have the basic needs to survive, and that 25% of children under 3 years of age suffer from malnutrition. I would like to know your positions on this topic. Thank You, Maria Clara http://www.fsdinternational.org/ntlopps/country/bolivia/healthissues | |

| quote="United States_Roberta"]Venezuela’s president had officially stated he is a socialist-communist, which is a worldwide threat. He is ally of Iran’s president and also has major nuclear power interests.[/quote]
The delegate of Bolivia would like to remind the delegate of the United States that socialism and communism are two forms of economical rule, meaning that they couldn't be a worldwide threat. The delegate of Bolivia would also like to ask the delegate of the United States not to turn this discussion into a Cold War situation, in which the United States faught against any "communist threat," or where people were arrested just because they were accused of being communists.
The delegate of Bolivia believes that Venezuela's president has the right to declare support and alliance to any other nation, and would like to state that Venezuela hasn't shown any danger to Latin America or the world, and has only been pursuing nuclear power for making the country's economy better, which is only based on oil, contrary to the United States.

First of all delegate of Bolivia, please make those arguments in the debating page please, this one here is just for topics. Well delegate, it is not incorrect the term socialist-communist, since both of them have the same bases- really similar ideas. Socialism deals with the economic system and Communism with the political system, but they are all inter-related; communists are socialists.
Actually delegate, President Chavez (if that’s really what we can call), has stated before many times he practices Trotskyism, meaning that he supports the socialists ideas of Trotsky, who influenced Stalin with COMMUNIST’S ideas. The delegate of the United States is not willing to turn this discussion into a Cold War situation, in contrary, we want to alert the world that Chavez comprises ideas of socialism and communism together, and could possibly influence many other countries. The United States delegation is here to propose the democratization of Venezuela’s government.
Of course the Delegate of the United States is aware that any country can choose its allies, but the perturbing and upsetting fact is that Iran and Venezuela are working together against United States. If the delegate is so sure they are producing nuclear power for peace, can the delegate explain why didn’t Iran let IAEA inspections for the last years, and why does Iran still continues to increase uranium use? Can the delegate also explain the delegate of the United States, why there was two Venezuelan’s representatives, in California, researching about United States nuclear power?
The only thing that worries USA delegation the most is the fact that the Bolivian delegate is not aware of the problems Venezuela has brought to its neighbors, such as when it financed the FARC. Documents, recovered by Columbia, gave a clear sign that Hugo Chavez armed and financed the guerilla leader across the border. This document showed details of close collaboration between Venezuela’s military and FARC; Venezuela was preparing to finance the rebels about $250 million dollars, with Russian weapons.

| the delegate of mexico is growing concerned for the drug relations of the US, with latin america. for estemates show that 90% of all drug movements to the US are stopping in mexico. the US should have a better policy on drug consumptions for it is deeply affecting the countries around them. the US is the greatest consumer of cocaine in the world, shipped from colombia going through mexico and the carreabians. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2086.html | |

| colombia is the leading coca coltivator in the wolrd, with over 167,000 hectares in coca coltivation. they export almost all of the drugs imported to the US, which goes through mexico. the UN should create a stricker force against international drug relations, because as such a world power, the US's consumption of drugs deeply affects mexico that is obviously not being able to handle the quantety of drugs comming through it because of the US. colombia has been the leading drug exporter for about 4 years, but no-one seems to take action against it. exporting laws should be dramasticly alterated to be more strick on colombia to decrease the affects on countries like mexico. | |

| The delegate of Mexico totally supports my partner's post when it comes to "a stricker force againts internacional drug relations". National Intelligence chief Guillermo Valdes stated on August that more than 28,000 people had died in drug-related violence since 2006. This is a really high number of death in only 4 years and the delegation of Mexico is looking forward to end this issue as soon as possible.

| It's good to see the delegates of Mexico dominating the American caucus. The Japanese delegate would like to enforce the Mexican delegates' fight against the War on Drugs. The Mexican delegates have our nation's full support. If the delegation of Mexico desires, it can mention the proud nation of Japan on its resolution, for aids both referentially, to empower your resolution's status or as a financial sponsor for your cause, feel free to require aid and support from Japan. Let's make peace with this war against drugs, for the benefit of humanity.
Japan supports Mexico and urges all nations to vote in favor of its resolution.
